Common issues
-
Mail Templates icon isn't in the menu bar.
Open
System Settings → Control Center, scroll to
"Menu Bar Only," find Boilerplate Mail, and set it to
"Always Show in Menu Bar."
-
Clicking a template doesn't insert it.
Boilerplate Mail copies the filled-in template to your clipboard and
brings Mail to the front — you'll see a "Copied — press ⌘V in Mail
to paste" notification. Click into the message body and press
⌘V to paste it in. (The
direct download
inserts templates in one click instead — Apple's App Store sandboxing
rules are what require the copy/paste step in that version.)
-
The puzzle-piece icon doesn't appear in Mail's compose window.
Open
Mail → Settings → Extensions and make sure
Boilerplate Mail is turned on — it only appears there after you've
run the main app at least once.
-
The Quick Insert panel (⌃⌥T) doesn't open.
Make sure Boilerplate Mail is running (check the menu bar). If another
app already uses that shortcut, it may be intercepted before it
reaches Boilerplate Mail.
-
Restoring a previous purchase.
Open the upgrade screen (triggered when you try to add a 4th
template) and click "Restore Purchases."
