Boilerplate Mail does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us or to any third party.
Your templates and default placeholder values are stored locally on your Mac, and sync to your other Macs via your own private iCloud account (using Apple's CloudKit) if you're signed in to iCloud — this data is never visible to anyone but you, and we have no access to it. Nothing is uploaded to any server we operate — we don't run one.
Boilerplate Mail uses Apple's Automation (Apple Events) framework, with your explicit one-time permission, to create new pre-filled messages, to look up a recipient's name so templates can address them by name, and to read a draft's subject/body only when you choose "Save Draft as Template." Inserting a template into an already-open draft copies it to your clipboard for you to paste yourself — it is not done automatically. All of this happens entirely on your Mac between two apps you control — nothing is sent to us.
The one-time unlock purchase is processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see or handle your payment information — Apple's own privacy policy governs that part of the transaction.
The app includes no analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
Questions about this policy can be sent to boilerplate.mac@gmail.com.
